Lecture "Writing The Norman Conquest"

On Dec. 13th 2007, Prof. Katharine Keats-Rohan (Linacre College, Oxford) delivered a lecture entitled “Writing the Norman Conquest” which, though aimed primarily at students of Modern Languages and Literatures, was also attended by students of History, both undergraduate and postgraduate. A guided presentation of some of the key scenes and events as portrayed in the “Bayeux Tapestry” was the form adopted by the speaker to introduce the audience to the historical, political and dynastic background of 1066, a truly turning point in the history of medieval England.
